Paprika Hungarian Restaurant (Sephardic fusion)
We have picked our favourite meals of the Mediterran

If we think of spices as medicine and magical devices, we arrive at the true beauty of food. When we manage to prepare a dish in such a way that it dazzles our sensory organs and serve it in its own traditional context, then we also reach the nourishment of the soul.

Did you know

that our Moroccan Lamb tagine is cooked with honey to simbolize the sweetness of life, star anis to represent the stars and carrots to express love for the land? Therefore lamb tagine is a typical example of the food of "Al-Andalus", the moderate Islamic Spain that was centered in Cordoba, where Muslims, Christians and Jews lived peacefully together. This heartfelt nostalgia for Medieval Iberia is still with us.

Did you also know that soup used to serve for medical purposes to heal body and soul? Hungarians love to remember the legendary herbs and vegetable potions of their nomadic ancestors that had to survive hot summers and frosty, harsh winters as well. GOULASH SOUP is a liquidy substance with magical powers and secret ingredients, while GOULASH STEW was its thicker form, denser and more filling to the hungry belly: the authentic FOOD OF MAN. The best goulash is 100% kosher, without any dairy product: beef, potatoes and red paprika. So even if pork is important in Hungarian cuisine, Hungary quickly became the centre of Jewish gastronomy.

Follow our themed culinary specialties that we keep offering all year round. We celebrate Spanish, Jewish and international holidays, seasons and events.

Bread and Glassmakers

In our restaurant every corner, every photo, every meal has a story to tell. On their Sephardic journey, our family has been active glassmakers all over Europe and the New World for 500 years and maybe more. They put a bundle on their shoulder and set off for another place each time they had to move on. After they had escaped from Murano and Venice, they had no land, no ties but their family, talent and skills. They also had with them their BREAD and the freedom of shapes and forms. This deep rooted story has been summarized in our latest food: the Bread Bundle. The baked bread bundle has the shape of a sphere closed at top and the filling inside is a station of the journey: beef stew lamb tagine, fish paprikash or just tastefully combined vegetables with tofu or cheese.
